This is so fun, and a great read. I'm just starting to understand what being Sagittarius rising could mean, as a grounded/practical Capricorn person. Lots to ponder... thank you Bre.

Thank you Allison! I just responded to another person with a Sag / Cap combo, so there's definitely something in the air. I'll paste what I said:

Sag wants to expand and see more, while Cap wants to hunker down and work on whatever is important to you (career related or not). Sag is more extroverted, Cap is more introverted. It's like when you play two notes together on a keyboard, it sounds a bit weird. That doesn't make it wrong, though. It's more about integrating BOTH of these energies and making them heard.

Assuming you have a Capricorn sun (?), that's your soul's central mission in life. The lesser known function of the ascendent (rising) is that it can HELP you in whatever you're working towards with your sun. That's how they play together. So, it's very possible that the impulse of wide experience or the designer to learn or the optimism and faith of Sag is a helpful tool for whatever your Capricorn sun is here to do. :)

My Venus, Uranus, and Saturn are all in Sagittarius for me. (I have the most placements in Sag and Cap). Not sure what the Sag of it all means for me, but I really like this palette!

Having that much energy in Sagittarius means that a part of your soul's mission is to simply enjoy wider experience in this life. I could go much deeper, but that's the short of it. Like I said in this post, that could be as close as a new to you neighborhood or as far as traveling abroad can take you. But it can also be learning about things that fascinate you.

I imagine that having the most energy in Sag AND Cap is an interesting mix. Sag wants to expand and see more, while Cap wants to hunker down and work on whatever is important to you (career related or not). Sag is more extroverted, Cap is more introverted. It's like when you play two notes together on a keyboard, it sounds a bit weird. That doesn't make it wrong, though. So it's more about integrating BOTH of these energies and making them all heard.

My husband is a Sag and I'm a Cap, so I see this same dynamic between the two of us. He'll throw out a big idea and if I don't catch myself, I sometimes bring too much practicality and caution to the conversation. He helps me get out of my box. :)

Thank you so much for that insight! I definitely see how a big source of the frustration I feel is due to not enjoying a wider experience of life. I’m leaning a little too hard into my Cap energy. But now I see that leaning into more of my Sag side will HELP me to leverage my Cap strengths. One informs the other.

Yes exactly! I'm guessing that wider experience will HELP whatever underlying mission your Cap has. Or, in other words, whatever bigger goals your Cap has will turn out better when you utilize your Sagittarian resources: optimism, big picture ideas, inspiration from elsewhere, etc.

Bingo!!! I forget -- are you also into Human Design or do you mainly study astrology?

I like Human Design, but love astrology. It's not that I think HD is wrong (I've actually found it to be really helpful, especially in learning my emotional wave), but more so where my interest lies in studying more. :)

As a Sagittarius, I have never really felt in tune with a lot of the typical traits and characteristics I've read about - but I feel like this post really GOT ME. I saw myself in so much of this moodboard and story. In fact, I'm branding my own business currently and have already decided on chartreuse as a primary color...and, how funny, my business name is the bold shift, so I've been lusting after display typefaces. And I loved visiting Portugal last year - your project for The Lisbon is so perfect!

That makes me so happy to hear. I practice a form of astrology called "evolutionary astrology," which views us as growth seeking humans rather than a set of fixed personality traits. The ultimate "aim" for Sagittarius, in it's simplest form, is to see / experience more of this world in whatever way suits them. Follow your fascinations, friend!

And! Just out of curiosity, what traits about Sag that you've read have felt off to you? (I love to continue learning)

LOVE LOVE LOVE that you're going to use Chartreuse and that your business name literally says "bold" annnnd that you're looking at more display typefaces. That sounds absolutely perfect.
